01Listen and define
We begin with what the business needs the website to achieve, who it needs to speak to and what visitors should be able to do. These points become the brief used to judge later decisions.
02Plan the pages
The sitemap, navigation and order of information are planned before visual detail takes over. Existing content is reviewed so gaps and priorities are visible early.
03Set the visual direction
Typography, colour, imagery and layout are developed around the character of the business. The homepage direction is agreed before that system is carried across the remaining pages.
04Build responsively
The approved design becomes a working website for large screens, laptops, tablets and phones. Accessibility, loading performance and purposeful interaction are considered during the build.
05Review working drafts
You can see the website in the browser rather than relying on flat pictures. Feedback is gathered in clear rounds, with decisions and requested changes kept connected to the current draft.
06Check and prepare
Before launch preparation, pages are checked across screen sizes. Links, forms, focus states, page titles, image treatment and the details of spacing and type receive a final pass.

A careful finish is not one last task. It is a series of checks made throughout the design and build, followed by a focused review before launch preparation.
Layouts are checked from wide desktop screens down to small phones, including the awkward widths between standard breakpoints.
Navigation, buttons, links, forms, keyboard focus and motion are reviewed so the site remains clear to use.
Headings, line lengths, spacing, image crops and page-to-page consistency are checked together rather than in isolation.
Titles, descriptions, semantic structure, image text and basic search and sharing information are prepared for the public pages.
